SELF-REPORT VERSION 1.1
QB 1: Mission Statement
1. Identity and Mission
The Freie Akademie Braunschweig is managed by two partners, Mr. David Damiri Knapheide and Mr. Mustafa Kara. The employees and freelance lecturers also share organizational and pedagogical tasks. Together we want to create an opportunity in Braunschweig to provide individual and goal-oriented education. We see ourselves as a learning organization that is constantly improving both its quality and its range of courses and adapting them to the circumstances.
2. Corporate philosophy
Our work is characterized by two principles: openness and transparency in all work processes and the mediation between the needs and wishes of the customers and the lecturers. The cornerstones of knowledge transfer are: an open, not a static course program, an in-depth analysis of the needs and problems of the customers, lifelong learning (all age groups), learning through motivation and personal participation, respect in dealing with one another and freedom for new learning and teaching concepts.
3. Target groups
Participants of all ages take part in our courses. This begins with learning support for preschool and primary school children, continues with support for the entire school program up to the Abitur and concludes with courses for students and adults, as well as language courses. The courses are aimed at customers who are in a learning situation in which they need guidance or support in order to achieve better results.
4. Corporate goals
At the Free Academy, we want to impart specialist knowledge. To do this, we first carry out a precise analysis of the initial situation, which includes a joint formulation of goals and is repeated in a similar form as a reflection of what has been learned (evaluation) at certain intervals. This goal is achieved by optimizing learning behavior and carefully guiding students towards the targeted learning goals. Other goals of education at the Free Academy are to strengthen personal and social skills, as well as to expand general skills in learning behavior (alternative approaches).
5. Skills
The Free Academy consists of lecturers from a wide range of subject areas. In the primary school sector and when working with students up to the 12th grade, these are trained primary school teachers or lecturers with comparable training. In adult education, teachers, private lecturers and other specialists with appropriate experience and competence teach. A large proportion of the languages are taught by native speakers. In addition to technical competence, social and pedagogical skills are strongly developed at the Free Academy. The close cooperation between the lecturers and the desired synergy effect through constructive and committed work form the foundation for success and the sensible use of existing skills. The employees in the organizational area are trained office workers and specialized, external consultants, especially in the areas of marketing, finance, public relations and IT.
6. Benefits
The product range is based on two factors: the skills of the lecturers, the actions and ideas of the employees and the demand of the customers. The regular program includes individual courses, language courses, coaching, rhetoric, negotiation techniques, learning support for children, student support, exam preparation, cultural projects, mentorship, advice and mediation.
7. Resources
Our resources are our employees and lecturers. Financial resources are provided by our shareholders, our customers and through the participation or support of larger companies in our projects.
8. Definition of successful learning
A learning process at the Freie Akademie Braunschweig is considered successful when the self-formulated goal is achieved. This is usually passing an exam, improving skills and abilities or success in school, university or work. The successful learning process at the Freie Akademie is defined by the following criteria: • Motivated, committed participation until the end • Development of independence and autonomy in the learning process • Achievement of the self-formulated goal • Satisfaction of customers and lecturers • Further contact with the academy Successful learning at the academy is linked to a corporate culture that is characterized by technically and socially competent staff, cooperation between lecturers and further development of the company’s own concept and its quality.
